Jun 28, 2019 · A VPN, on the other hand, only works on specialized routers that can run the VPN client software. If you don’t have one of these routers, you’ll have to run the VPN software on every device individually, which isn’t always possible for devices like game consoles or Apple TVs. A Smart DNS also has a negligible effect on connection performance.
The client may also receive the IP address of the Domain Name System (DNS) server and the IP address of the Windows Internet Name Service (WINS) server. The name resolution setting in the VPN profile configures how name resolution should work on the system when VPN is connected. Jan 26, 2006 · Secondly, because the ISP DNS servers assigned to the working VPN client do not accept requests from another ISP (this requests goes through the VPN tunnel and are therefore sourced from the ISA external interface), the DNS resolving falls back to one of the DNS servers assigned to the PPP adapter. After a remote computer connects to the Routing and Remote Access server by using a dial-up or a Virtual Private Networking (VPN) connection, one or more of the following symptoms may I had the same issue with VPN where when users used to connect to remote vpn their external dns used to stop for eg. google.com only company domains used to work which were listed on split-dns.
